The whale’s womb is the landing place for many literary or allegorical shipwrecks. In this piece it represents a metaphorical place where the rebirth and the redemption can take place.
The duet wants to recreate a backwards trip from the gestation back to the violent impact of the shipwreck. A trip where the symbiotic bodies recognize each other and then confuse themselves together with the elements – ground, water and air. The performance aims to represent a spot of the shipwreck where the time is expanded and the space has been narrowed, a place where the individual can thus have the opportunity to recover a connection with his place on earth and finally arise again.
